About the Podcast

The idea

Most travel shows cover the destination after the trip. This one covers the planning — the part where you're comparing flight prices at midnight, arguing about neighbourhoods, reading every review of a restaurant you might visit three months from now.

The Travel Planning Podcast follows one trip at a time, episode by episode, from the moment we pick a destination through to the final itinerary. After the trip, we come back and break down how it actually went.

Why planning?

Because planning is where most of the interesting decisions happen. Where you stay shapes the entire experience. The order you visit places in matters. The difference between a good trip and a great one is often made months before departure — in the research phase, the trade-offs, the things you decide not to do.

If you're planning your own trip to somewhere we've covered, the companion posts on this site should give you a head start.

The format

Each episode is roughly 30–50 minutes. No interviews, no ads mid-sentence, no unnecessary preamble. Just the planning process, explained as we go.

New episodes drop every two weeks, typically on a Wednesday.
